BMSI has an exciting opportunity for a BMS Design Engineer to join our Aviation team based at Heathrow Airport.
This role would suit an experienced BMS Design Engineer, but we'd also welcome applications from experienced BMS Support, Service or Commissioning Engineers who are looking to move into a design-focused role. If you have a solid background in Building Management Systems and are looking for a new challenge, we'd love to hear from you.
Working on a wide range of airport infrastructure projects, you'll play a key role in delivering high-quality BMS designs that support one of the world's busiest airports. You'll work closely with experienced engineers, project teams and Heathrow stakeholders, contributing to projects that are both technically challenging and highly visible.
Your Role
As a BMS Design Engineer, you'll be responsible for producing robust, practical and compliant BMS designs across all stages of a project lifecycle, ensuring systems are delivered to the highest standards.
Key Responsibilities
Develop complete BMS design solutions from concept through to installation
Interpret mechanical, electrical and HVAC specifications and drawings
Design in accordance with Heathrow Airport (HAL) standards and protocols
Produce and maintain points lists, equipment schedules, valve schedules and O&M documentation
Specify BMS hardware, software and field equipment
Liaise with panel manufacturers and review panel schematics
Attend factory acceptance tests where required
Support projects throughout the design lifecycle
Ensure designs are delivered on time and to the required standards
What We're Looking For
Proven experience within the Building Management Systems (BMS) industry
Experience in BMS design, or a strong technical BMS background with a desire to develop into design
Knowledge of Trend and/or Tridium systems
Solid understanding of HVAC systems and building services
AutoCAD experience
Good communication and organisational skills
Living within approximately 40 miles of Heathrow Airport (TW6)
Willingness to undergo a DBS check and airport security clearance process
Desirable
Experience working within critical or highly regulated environments
Familiarity with Heathrow Airport standards and procedures
Experience delivering large-scale BMS projects
